Using the newer bazel rules necessitates a transition from proto1 to
proto2. In order to resolve the incompatibility between proto2 and
gogoproto, the cri runtimeoptions proto must be vendored.
Further, some of the semantics of bazel caching changed during the
transition. It is now necessary to:
- Ensure that :gopath depends only on pure library targets, as the
propagation of go_binary build attributes (pure, static) will
affected the generated files (though content remains the same,
there are conflicts with respect to the gopath).
- Update bazel.mk to include the possibility of binaries in the
bazel-out directory, as it will now put runsc and others there.
This required some refinements to the mechanism of extracting
paths, since some the existing regex resulted in false positives.
- Change nogo rules to prevent escape generation on binary targets.
For some reason, the newer version of bazel attempted to run the
nogo analysis on the binary targets, which fails due to the fact
that objdump does not work on the final binary. This must be due
to a change in the semantics of aspects in bazel3.

This required minor restructuring of how system call tables were saved
and restored, but it makes way more sense this way.
Updates #2243
|
|
In general, we've learned that logging must be avoided at all
costs in the hot path. It's unlikely that the optimizations
here were significant in any case, since buffer would certainly
escape.
This also adds a test to ensure that the caller identification
works as expected, and so that logging can be benchmarked.

* Rename syncutil to sync.
* Add aliases to sync types.
* Replace existing usage of standard library sync package.
This will make it easier to swap out synchronization primitives. For example,
this will allow us to use primitives from github.com/sasha-s/go-deadlock to
check for lock ordering violations.

It is Implemented without the priority inheritance part given
that gVisor defers scheduling decisions to Go runtime and doesn't
have control over it.

Fluentd configuration uses 'log' for the log message
while containerd uses 'msg'. Since we can't have a single
JSON format for both, add another log format and make
debug log configurable.

Added events for *ctl syscalls that may have multiple different commands.
For runsc, each syscall event is only logged once. For *ctl syscalls, use
the cmd as identifier, not only the syscall number.

This change introduces a new flags to create/run called
--user-log. Logs to this files are visible to users and
are meant to help debugging problems with their images
and containers.
For now only unsupported syscalls are sent to this log,
and only minimum support was added. We can build more
infrastructure around it as needed.
