There were quite a lot of conflicts in flowspec validation code which ultimately led to some code being a bit rewritten, not only adapted from this or that branch, yet it is still in a limit of a merge.

2022-05-30Squashing the route attribute structure into one level.Maria Matejka
For now, all route attributes are stored as eattrs in ea_list. This should make route manipulation easier and it also allows for a layered approach of route attributes where updates from filters will be stored as an overlay over the previous version.
2022-05-30Route destination field merged with nexthop attribute; splitting flowspec ↵Maria Matejka
validation result out. As there is either a nexthop or another destination specification (or othing in case of ROAs and Flowspec), it may be merged together. This code is somehow quirky and should be replaced in future by better implementation of nexthop. Also flowspec validation result has its own attribute now as it doesn't have anything to do with route nexthop.
2022-05-26Moved nexthop from struct rta to extended attribute.Maria Matejka
This doesn't do anything more than to put the whole structure inside adata. The overall performance is certainly going downhill; we'll optimize this later. Anyway, this is one of the latest items inside rta and in several commits we may drop rta completely and move to eattrs-only routes.
2022-05-04Moved route source attribute (RTS_*) to eattrsMaria Matejka
2022-05-04Removing the route scope attribute. Use custom attributes instead.Maria Matejka
The route scope attribute was used for simple user route marking. As there is a better tool for this (custom attributes), the old and limited way can be dropped.
2022-05-04Moved route preference to eattrsMaria Matejka
2022-05-04Explicit definition structures of route attributesMaria Matejka
Changes in internal API: * Every route attribute must be defined as struct ea_class somewhere. * Registration of route attributes known at startup must be done by ea_register_init() from protocol build functions. * Every attribute has now its symbol registered in a global symbol table defined as SYM_ATTRIBUTE * All attribute ID's are dynamically allocated. * Attribute value custom formatting hook is defined in the ea_class. * Attribute names are the same for display and filters, always prefixed by protocol name. Also added some unit testing code for filters with route attributes.
2022-05-04Splitting route data structures out to libMaria Matejka
2022-04-06Protocols have their own explicit init routinesMaria Matejka
2021-11-09Split route data structure to storage (ro) / manipulation (rw) structures.Maria Matejka
Routes are now allocated only when they are just to be inserted to the table. Updating a route needs a locally allocated route structure. Ownership of the attributes is also now not transfered from protocols to tables and vice versa but just borrowed which should be easier to handle in a multithreaded environment.
2021-10-13Route: moved rte_src pointer from rta to rteMaria Matejka
It is an auxiliary key in the routing table, not a route attribute.
2021-10-13Preference moved to RTA and set explicitly in protocolsMaria Matejka
2018-05-29Protocol: Introducing an enum protocol_classJan Maria Matejka
This supersedes the EAP_* constants.

2018-02-07Nest: Trivial whitespace cleanupOndrej Zajicek (work)
2017-12-07Nest: Maintain separate IPv4, IPv6 and LLv6 preferred addressesOndrej Zajicek (work)
Also redesign preferred address selection and update protocols to use appropriate preferred address. Based on a previous work by Jan Maria Matejka.
2017-02-20Several minor fixesOndrej Zajicek (work)
2016-12-22Removing (struct rta)->cast. Never used.Jan Moskyto Matejka
2016-12-22Merged multipath and single-path data structures.Jan Moskyto Matejka
Dropped struct mpnh and mpnh_*() Now struct nexthop exists, nexthop_*(), and also included struct nexthop into struct rta. Also converted RTD_DEVICE and RTD_ROUTER to RTD_UNICAST. If it is needed to distinguish between these two cases, RTD_DEVICE is equivalent to IPA_ZERO(a->nh.gw), RTD_ROUTER is then IPA_NONZERO(a->nh.gw). From now on, we also explicitely want C99 compatible compiler. We assume that this 20-year norm should be known almost everywhere.
2016-05-12Merge remote-tracking branch 'origin/master' into int-newOndrej Zajicek (work)
2016-04-08Direct: Implement check link for direct protocolOndrej Zajicek (work)
When enabled, direct protocol generates routes only if the underlying link state is up.
2016-04-08Route update: move table lookup from protocols into rte_update2().Jan Moskyto Matejka
Many protocols do almost the same when creating a rte_update request before calling rte_update2(). This commit should simplify the protocol side of the route-creation routine.
2016-03-10Fix typoPavel Tvrdík
2016-02-01Channels - explicit links between protocols and tablesOndrej Zajicek (work)
The patch adds support for channels, structures connecting protocols and tables and handling most interactions between them. The documentation is missing yet.
2015-11-12Follow-up commit on integrated BIRDOndrej Zajicek (work)
Use net_addr for interface address prefixes, support net_addr in configuration parser.
2015-11-05Initial commit on integrated BIRDOndrej Zajicek (work)
New data types net_addr and variants (in lib/net.h) describing network addresses (prefix/pxlen). Modifications of FIB structures to handle these data types and changing everything to use these data types instead of prefix/pxlen pairs where possible. The commit is WiP, some protocols are not yet updated (BGP, Kernel), and the code contains some temporary scaffolding. Comments are welcome.
2015-07-18Direct: Fixes behavior for the same routes on different interfacesOndrej Zajicek
Thanks to Andrew (seti.kr.ua) for the bug report.
2015-02-21Store protocol config size inside protocol structureOndrej Zajicek
Make proto_config_new() use this info instead of supplied size. Thanks to Alexander V. Chernikov for the patch.

2013-11-23Merge branch 'master' into add-pathOndrej Zajicek
Conflicts: filter/filter.c nest/proto.c nest/rt-table.c proto/bgp/bgp.h proto/bgp/config.Y
2013-09-10Fixes a bug related to multiple IPs and direct protocol.Ondrej Zajicek
Multiple IPs in the same IP prefix confuse the direct protocol and could cause withdrawal of a valid prefix. Thanks to Dan Rimal for a bugreport.
2012-08-14Implements ADD-PATH extension for BGP.Ondrej Zajicek
Allows to send and receive multiple routes for one network by one BGP session. Also contains necessary core changes to support this (routing tables accepting several routes for one network from one protocol). It needs some more cleanup before merging to the master branch.
2012-01-24Assign default protocol preference via proto_config_new().Ondrej Zajicek
The patch from Alexander V. Chernikov.
2011-11-07Implements protocol templates.Ondrej Zajicek
Based on the patch from Alexander V. Chernikov. Extended to support almost all protocols. Uses 'protocol bgp NAME from TEMPLATE { ... }' syntax.
2010-03-14Temporary OSPF commit - sockets.Ondrej Zajicek
2010-02-26Many changes in (mainly) kernel syncers.Ondrej Zajicek
- BSD kernel syncer is now self-conscious and can learn alien routes - important bugfix in BSD kernel syncer (crash after protocol restart) - many minor changes and bugfixes in kernel syncers and neighbor cache - direct protocol does not generate host and link local routes - min_scope check is removed, all routes have SCOPE_UNIVERSE by default - also fixes some remaining compiler warnings
2009-06-01The pipe cleanup.Ondrej Zajicek
2009-05-06A change in OSPF and RIP interface patterns.Ondrej Zajicek
Allows to add more interface patterns to one common 'options' section like: interface "eth3", "eth4" { options common to eth3 and eth4 }; Also removes undocumented and unnecessary ability to specify more interface patterns with different 'options' sections: interface "eth3" { options ... }, "eth4" { options ... };
